How to Mark a Sound as Not Snoring
To mark a sound as not snoring in Snorely, open the night’s report, find the clip under Loudest moments, and tap its flag icon. This excludes the linked event from the night’s calculations, provided its event details are still available. It does not exclude every similar sound or an entire snoring bout.
Find the clip in your night’s report
Open History and select the night you want to correct, then scroll to Loudest moments. Each clip row shows a time, a duration, a loudness label, a play button, a flag, and a share button. Check the report’s date before making a change, especially if you are reviewing several nights. The flag belongs to that individual clip; it is separate from the trash icon at the top of the report. There is no need to delete the night or change its tags to correct a sound.
Listen before deciding what to exclude
Tap the clip’s play button and listen through it before using the flag. Work through clips one at a time, letting playback finish before starting another. A recognizable non-snoring sound is a reason to exclude the linked detection. If you cannot tell what made the sound, leave it unchanged rather than treating uncertainty as proof that it was a mistake. In a shared bedroom, the recording alone may not tell you who was snoring. Snorely does not automatically identify your voice, distinguish your snoring from a partner’s, or assign a clip to a particular person.
Tap the flag and check the confirmation
The flag is the control labeled Not snoring. Tap it once on the clip you want to exclude. The row gains the label Not snoring · left out, and a brief message says Left out. New score: followed by the score. The report refreshes in place, so you can check the result without leaving the page. There is no separate Save button for this action. The clip remains listed with its playback and sharing controls; flagging it changes whether its linked event counts, rather than removing the audio recording.
Understand exactly which sound is left out
One flagged clip excludes one linked detected event. A clip can include surrounding audio, but the flag does not let you select a time range or clear every detection heard during playback. It also does not remove a whole bout, all sounds from the same source, or matching sounds elsewhere in the night. For example, recognizing a partner’s snoring in one clip does not remove that partner’s other detected snores. Other events remain counted unless individually excluded through their own clips. Snorely saves selected moments, so the clip list does not give you a correction control for every event in the timeline.
Why the score may not drop
When the night’s event details are available, Snorely recalculates the report using the events that still count. That can affect the score, estimated snoring time, snore count, bouts, and loudest moment. A new calculation does not guarantee a lower displayed score: rounding can leave the number unchanged, and removing a quieter event can raise the average intensity of the remaining events. A timeline bar may also remain because it contains other detections. Check the clip’s left-out label to confirm the selection; do not keep flagging unrelated clips just to make the score fall.
Undo a flag without deleting anything
If you flagged the wrong clip or change your mind after listening again, tap that same flag once more. The left-out label disappears, and the confirmation says Counted again. Score: followed by the score. This puts the linked event back into the calculation when event details are available. There is no separate undo screen to find. Keep this distinct from deleting a night: the report’s trash icon opens a confirmation to remove the night’s score and clips from the phone. Use the flag when you want to correct a detection while keeping the night.
If you cannot play the sound
A clip row is not a guarantee that its audio is still available. If playback reports No audio saved for this clip, do not guess what the sound was from its waveform or loudness label. Sample nights also have no recorded audio and are labeled as samples. If there are no clip rows, there is no clip flag to use for that night. For future recordings, check Save snore clips in Settings if you want audio to review. Turning it on cannot recreate audio that was not saved, and flagging an unavailable clip cannot restore its sound.
When the label changes but the score stays fixed
A report may say that its detailed timeline was removed to free up storage and that the score is kept as recorded. For that night, Snorely preserves the saved score instead of recalculating it. The clip’s flag and left-out label can still change, and the brief confirmation can still say New score even though the number is preserved. Treat the storage notice as the explanation: the flag cannot rebuild missing event details. An unchanged score in this situation does not mean you need to tap repeatedly or delete the night and start over.
If the same false detections keep happening
Manual flags apply to the selected night; they do not train Snorely to recognize a particular noise or person next time. For future nights, Settings includes Detection sensitivity, with Low, Medium, and High options. The app’s guidance is to lower sensitivity if other noises count and raise it if snores are missed. Changing sensitivity does not reanalyze a saved night. Keep corrections based on what you can actually hear. A corrected score cannot establish that your breathing was normal: the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute advises discussing breathing pauses, gasping, or daytime sleepiness with a healthcare provider. Snorely does not diagnose sleep apnea.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mark my partner’s snoring as not snoring?
Yes, if you recognize that the clip is not yours and want its linked event left out of your report. The label is an exclusion from your calculations; it does not mean the sound itself was not snoring.
Can I select just part of a clip?
No. The flag applies to the clip’s linked event. Snorely does not offer a selection tool to cut out a few seconds, separate overlapping sounds, or keep only your snoring within a mixed clip.
Can I correct a sound directly on the timeline?
The timeline can start playback of a nearby saved clip. The correction control is the flag in that clip’s row under Loudest moments; there is no separate flag for every bar in the chart.
Do I need Snorely Pro to use Not snoring?
The flag has no separate Pro requirement. You can use it in reports you can open. Without Pro, the three most recent real nights are accessible; Pro opens older saved nights. Access does not restore missing audio or event details.
Does marking a clip delete or mute the recording?
No. The saved audio is unchanged, and the clip stays in the list. The action changes whether the linked detection counts toward that night’s report. It does not edit the sound you hear when you play the clip.
