SNORELY← Guide

Does Snorely Work Without an Internet Connection?

Yes. Snorely can record and analyze snoring on your phone without an internet connection, but Google Play purchases and fresh subscription checks need connectivity. You can record a night without Wi-Fi or mobile data; access to Pro features depends on whether the app can confirm or retain your subscription status.

What Snorely can do offline

Snorely offline recording uses your phone’s microphone and processes sound on the device. It can detect likely snoring, calculate a nightly score, save a timeline, and store selected short clips when audio saving is enabled. Those steps do not wait for a server or a morning upload. You can open your available saved reports and play clips that remain on the phone without reconnecting. Free access covers your three most recent recorded nights. The app saves selected moments rather than an uninterrupted audio recording of the whole night.

Where Google Play needs a connection

The subscription side works separately from the microphone. Snorely uses Google Play to obtain subscription offers, handle purchases, and check ownership. Plan information may be unavailable while you are offline, and a new purchase or restore should wait until you have a working connection. Android Developers’ Play Billing guidance identifies network failures between a device and Google Play as a reason billing requests can fail. An unavailable Pro plan does not mean you need internet access to start listening or calculate a new night’s score.

Can an existing Pro subscription work offline?

Pro may remain available when Google Play cannot answer. Snorely can use a previously confirmed subscription status for up to seven days after its last confirmation. That fallback requires a successful earlier confirmation on the phone; buying Pro elsewhere does not establish it automatically. The app checks ownership at startup and when you return to it. Do not count on indefinite access to older reports, the trend chart, or Insights during a long trip without service. Before leaving, connect, open Snorely, and confirm that the Pro feature you need is accessible.

Prepare before you lose service

Install Snorely while you have a connection, then open it and complete the introduction. Allow microphone access, and check Settings if you want audio clips: Save snore clips must be on. Make any subscription purchase or restore while connected, before bedtime. If you want to check your offline setup, disconnect Wi-Fi and mobile data before starting a short practice session. Choose no listening delay for that check, tap Start listening, then hold the finish button when you are done. Keep the short session if prompted and confirm that its report opens. A practice session does not establish that every overnight session will finish successfully.

Using airplane mode at bedtime

You can use airplane mode for a night without cellular service; Snorely’s local recording does not require a mobile connection. Check Wi-Fi separately if you want the phone fully offline. Google’s Android Help explains that wireless settings can be remembered in airplane mode, so the airplane icon alone does not establish that Wi-Fi is disconnected. Set your connection preferences before starting the night, then return to Snorely and leave it open. You do not need to switch airplane mode on for the app to process audio locally; recording also works when the phone is connected.

Offline recording still needs the app to stay open

Leave Snorely open on its recording screen and keep the phone powered. Use the app’s Dark screen at night setting if you want a dark display; that is different from locking the phone with its power button. Switching apps or locking the phone can interrupt listening, whether you have internet access or not. There is also a limitation to the status display: Listening can remain visible after the microphone stream has ended. A running timer or a quiet result therefore does not prove that sound was captured throughout the night. Check the saved report for interruptions before treating it as a complete recording.

If Pro will not restore or a purchase appears stuck

Reconnect before using Restore purchase. Snorely can show No active subscription found when a restore check could not confirm ownership because of a connection problem. That message alone does not establish that your subscription has ended. A billing request can also remain on Opening Google Play… without completing, and a purchase awaiting confirmation may return without a clear pending message. Before trying to buy again, check your subscription in Google Play using the account that made the purchase. Return to Snorely after restoring connectivity. If access remains wrong, contact support@hugosoftware.net; you do not need to send bedroom audio to explain a subscription problem.

What to check the next morning

Finish the session and check that the night appears in History. There is no cloud processing queue to wait for: the score and timeline are produced locally. If a clip is available, you can listen while still offline. If the report will not open because it is outside your three most recent nights, check Pro access after reconnecting. That is a separate issue from whether the night was saved. Likewise, reconnecting cannot recreate audio that was never captured. Snorely’s sound detection is an estimate, and its results do not diagnose a medical condition.

Frequently asked questions

Will losing Wi-Fi stop a recording already in progress?

Losing Wi-Fi alone does not stop the local recording process. Leave Snorely open and keep microphone access available. A phone or microphone interruption is a separate problem from losing internet service.

Does Snorely upload the night when I reconnect?

Snorely does not automatically upload your recording for analysis when a connection returns. Audio processing and clip storage happen on the phone. If you choose to share a clip, the receiving app or service handles that separate action.

Why is there a score but no playable audio?

Check whether Save snore clips was enabled. Snorely can calculate a score without saving clips, and it does not keep continuous overnight audio. Missing clips are not necessarily a sign that internet access was needed.

Does staying offline pause my Pro subscription?

No. Turning off connectivity does not cancel a Google Play subscription or change its renewal terms. Google Play Help explains that subscriptions renew under their terms unless canceled. Manage the subscription through Google Play when connected.

Will buying Pro again recover a missing audio file?

No. Pro unlocks access to features and saved reports; it does not reconstruct missing audio. Check your existing subscription before making another purchase. A report access restriction and an unavailable clip need different checks.
